- Try the estuary nature walk and tour the Hatfield Marine Science Center, just south of the Yaquina Bridge.

- Count the flavors of the saltwater taffy at Aunt Belinda's Candies on the Newport Bayfront (and get a free sample!).
- Visit Sea Lion Caves, 38 miles south of Newport on Hwy 101
- See Brian McEneny Marine & Wildlife Wood Carvings, head south of Newport on Hwy 101 about 9 miles at Seal Rock.
- Drive by the Port of Newport International Docks and follow the old Bay Road to Toledo for antique shopping and lunch.
- Walk the beach and collect agates.
- When the rain stops, count the colors in the rainbow.
